When I live in the states I lived for Subway. Not because I wanted to lose weight but because I loved it. Rene forgave me for my illicit affair with the sandwich counter time after time.

Fatboy
Imagie if you will, a world without many foods, no Italian, Mexican, Hamburgers, or any other kind of food that you would find out side of and Asian restaurant. A world where every main course is pain rice and the side it some kind of unknown vegetable, or Carp fish. No food is boned and a lot of the cutting is done with hatchets because chicken and pork bones are easier to cut that way. Add to that ginger, lime, onion, and one of two hot sauces. This about sums up 90% of my diet here.

We have recntly learned of a new sub shop in called Fatboy. In the absence of any other sub shop, I have been loving the new place. It has become my new favorite place to get a meal. I just hope Rene will forgive me for what she now has to contend with.... FATBOY!
Maybe Rene will keep forgiving me if I bring her back a sub every time I go... It's working so far. :)

House warming
December of 2009 we moved to a new location close to the new Logos International School building. It was ironic that the situation that fit our needs the best and was the least expensive was also in a very nice place. The new location is clean and beautiful even if it's a clone of all the others. Cloneliness is next to Godliness! :) It's awesome how God provides.!
This is our street
How can you have a party without food? Here is the "Table O Grub". After the potluck style treat table we had a few things to finish up but it didn't take long for a house full of teenage guys to pounce on it like a pack of wolves on an injured caribou. That table didn't have a prayer. The only things left were containers and packages.
Our house warming had nothing on the typical Khmer house warming. They usually set up large tents, with table to eat at, Fully catered, huge speaker, and sometimes live music. It's quite the experience to behold. Some day I will do a blog on it. But we show them all up, we had a ping-pong table and a basketball hoop for our "entertainment".

Monopoly?
Not to long ago we pick Logan up from an after school activity. As we rode home the conversation went something like this:
Rene: "So, did you have fun?"
Logan:"yeah"
Rene: "what did you do?"
Logan: "we played monopoly"
Rene: "Did you understand the rules?"
Logan "yeah"
Rene "was it hard?"
Logan "No, but it was hard to read the cards and board"
Rene "Yeah, you'll get better at reading"
Logan "it was kind of confusing though, because everything was in Spanish."
That's just normal here. The world Logan is growing up in is very different than the US. He just roles with it. It's no big deal.
If he can enjoy Monopoly in another language, we guessed that he would enjoy it in English. So for Christmas he got Star Wars Monopoly.
It has been fun to see the guys play and not to long ago Logan won for the first time.
